The Carlson empty capsules came in a well sealed package. They are clean and intact with none of them flattened in any way. The bottle states that they are made of beef gelatin for those who would choose to avoid pork products. This size would not be good if you want to put a lot in them. They are small to medium size. They measure 3/4" long and 1/4" wide. They are perfect for my use.
