I ordered this to help me with my sleep issues (insomnia) every now & again. It does work straight away, if you take it around 30min before going to bed. However, for people who take psychiatric medications, they should pay attention a bit if GABA does not interact with their meds. I am no medical professional, but I noticed that if taking for example SSRIs (a class of antidepressants) 30min-1h after taking GABA, in the timespan of 1-2 weeks of taking GABA every night alongside the SSRIs, there may have appeared some slight side effects, probably given by modified SRRIs levels by GABA. It may not be the same for everybody on these meds, but I am just writing about it, maybe it helps someone. I interrupted GABA because after 2 weeks of taking it nightly alongside an SSRI, I noticed a lot of grogginess during the day (especially in the morning) & increased fatigue, plus I was constantly bloated & my stomach got upset so to speak (the digestion issues intensified more towards the 2nd week of taking GABA). I also noticed slight increase in being jittery/agitated, which resembled a lot to how I feel when I decrease or increase the dose of the SSRI when needed. Once I stoped taking the GABA, within almost 1 week off it, my stomach got better/close to getting back to normal, almost no drowsiness & the state of feeling agitated is low to nothing. I don't know, maybe it could have been something different for me & not the GABA specifically, but correlating it with the time I started & the time I stopped, it may have interfered with SRRIs. I gave the supplement 5 starts because it really does help with sleep: you fall asleep faster & you sleep more soundly through the night. For people who do not take psychiatric meds it may work for sure, without the symptoms I mentioned.
